I'm Alive...

Yes, can you believe it? It has just been too long since I have posted to my blog. A lot has happened since my last posting so there will be lots for me to post. I am writing from warm (and sometimes humid) Tampa, Florida where I live with my partner Donald. Now that I feel like I am back in the blogworld again, I promise to be back soon.

Ciao,
Carmen

Bruce.. acoustic.. round three

Well all rumours were confirmed recently as the third US leg of Bruce Springsteen's Devils + Dust Tour was officially announced. The majority of ticket went on sale Sept 10 and I was estatic to get 8th row center seats for the show in Tampa.

I found Nemo!

As part of our Labor Day touring we visited the National Aquarium at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. It was a wonderful day and Jenn, Derek and I really spent more time in the aquarium then we thought we would. But I do think the highlight for me was finding Nemo. It was a blast seeing kids get so excited when they realized the fish looked exactly like him. I bet Jenn's highlight was taking photos of me sleeping at the dolphin exhibit.

Nemo, we missed you.

Labor Day update.

Well I got the photo upload software to work again and below is one of the pictures I snapped in DC when Jenn and Derek were visiting from Palm Springs. Talk about a whirlwind 5 days around Baltimore and DC visiting museums, eating crab cakes and watching pigs swim at the Maryland State Fair. Cheryl joined us and the four of us saw some sights we loved, like the Declaration of Independence and other we could have done without, a fair patron with sporting a t-shirt that you only see at State Fairs.

It was a wonderful time and I cannot wait to return the favor as guest when I am in Palm Springs in December. Hey Jenn, I still have some flavor creamer in the refrigerator but tell Derek I am out of Diet Dr. Pepper!

I know. It has been awhile.

Well it has been a bit since I posted mainly because I got caught up in some crazy stuff both at work and in my day life. Lots of good stuff brewing on the horizon and I am just trying to get my ducks in a row. Been doing a lot of research regarding another move to a warmer climate and I think I have all I need to know to start the cog rolling. I will keep you all posted as I get closer.

I have some new photos I want to post too but I am having trouble with my photo upload software. Fixing that and getting back into the photo sharing mode is on the top of the list.

On a fun, giddy note I got a huge kick this weekend when I went to the film Just Like Heaven with Donald. Great little movie starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo. Good story although predictable at times but the highlight was during a hospital room scene where I could see one of the ventilators that is manufactured by my former employer, VIASYS Healthcare. I'd be lying if I did not say it was a rush to see two of the logos I had created for the company that are on the ventilator lit up real big on the movie screen. It was really cool. Does that mean that I have "Gone Hollywood"? Make sure to look for it if you see the movie.

The great pumpkin is coming!

Linus better get ready because judging by the looks of the pumpkin plant that is growing outside my condo window it might get real big, real soon. From the likes of a holiday pumpkin that was left to rot in the mulch last fall an eager, new wide spreading plant has taken its place. Unless the gardeners opt to yank the sucker out it should hopefully bring some type of fruit at some point. I just get a kick out of as I watch it grow and spread almost daily. And the flowers on it are very pretty too.

I wanna ride this!

Glen sent me the picture below of a great amusement park attraction that we would never see in operation today. That is, unless it is set up in some backyard in Arkansas or something. Tell me this does not look like fun! Judging by the expression on the kid's face it is up there with the likes of Space Mountain and good bumper cars. If anyone finds one of these in operation let me know so I can buy a strip of ride tickets!

That's one way to get the bathtub filled with water!!
